GSM Association (GSMA) is reportedly very positive about the future of Mobile internet connection services. This service is believed will be selected as the Internet connection services by the world community. This was revealed by Tom Phillips, Chief Government & Regulatory Affairs Officer of the GSMA. Moreover, most Internet connections are using a mobile connection.
Conviction was motivated by reasons that “the procurement of fixed networks is not economical, especially for remote areas,” explained Philips. Another reason that makes the connection remains less competitive than mobile connections are at a higher operational cost, complexity of network Installation, as well as inadequate infrastructure.

Philips also said that from his observations, there is a decline in fixed line penetration is followed by an increase in mobile connections customers. GSMA rate this as the ideal conditions to further develop the mobile network technology as a reliable Internet access, which according to predictions that the Internet connection will become a trend in the future.

For that, GSMA provides input for the government to make additional spectrum to meet the needs of mobile internet connection services which are predicted to continue increasing. The addition of this frequency, Philips is also necessary to mention for pushing to overcome digital divide issues for rural areas.
