Apple has reportedly bought a company that is responsible for the design of the processor used on the iPad. Intrinsity based in Austin, Texas did not make direct microprocessor but specializes in designing and licensing high-performance processor for mobile devices.

Its main product is a collection even called Fast14 design tool that implements the algorithms and techniques to improve the efficiency of the CPU based on a variety of architectures including ARM family residing at the core of Apple products.

As usual, Apple has just announced the purchase of this Intrinsity although some employees have been replacing their status in the business networking site LinkedIn some time ago in accordance with their new positions in the company’s Cupertino giant.

Apple has not specifying the amount paid to purchase Intrinsity or what their plans against the company. Apple spokesman told the New York Times that the Apple from time to time, buy a smaller company.
